30 December 2009
This will be my last story for 2009. I wish you all a Happy New Year! I hope that 2010 will be a good and healthy year for all of you!

Monday, December 28 Mireille and her children visited us. It was a pleasant evening. They have adopted kitten 3 of Mia her litter and they will call her Bumper. A funny name that matches with the names of their two current female cats Banjer and Bengel. I would like to thank Mireille and her family once again for the adoption of Bumper and I look forward to their next visit.

Tuesday, December 29th I visited Ria in Haarlem. Ria adopted Boau last year. It was a very nice to see Ria again and I want to thank her for her hospitality and the delicious cake. Ria has a big house and Boau is allowed in every room. Boau is a beautiful, big cat of up to 15 pounds! And that is a lot for his age (less than 1 ½ years young)! Besides his size he is a wonderful, cuddly cat and he has some other 'special' features ;-). He looks like his brother Izzy and squint a bit. See photo. But it doesn’t look bad at all ;-). He is also friends with the French bulldog of Ria's brother. See photo. Boau thinks it is funny to jump on her when she isn’t watching. Besides his bold behavior he is very smart and fearless. He will sit down and wait for you to put on his harness so he can play in her garden. Ria also takes Boau for a walk outside and sometimes she takes him with her for a bike ride (see photo). And that is something I think is really special! I enjoyed my visit and want to thank Ria again for taking such good care of Boa.

Here are some pictures of our kittens. Luckily they all grow well. But funny Macy and Mia ... They were constantly changing litters. Of course that is fine by me and funny as well. Until I suddenly saw Macy her kittens besides Mia’s. Macy had removed them from the box and put her kittens next to Mia. Then I thought ‘I must come up with another solution’. Because it is quite tightly this way. So I removed Macy her box and put their kittens together. And now Mia and Macy take care of both litters. So sweet!

Marilyn and Sam had their first deworming a few days ago. The 1st deworming I give when they are around 500 grams. They also play in the living room by now and Mambo has the time of his life! Since Mambo has no brothers or sisters he loves to have some friends like Sam and Marilyn. But he needs to be careful with them. But I do keep a close eye.

I still have holiday so I can update my website a bit more often. But after my vacation, I can update my website only about once a week. All kittens gained weight and I have made a weight list from Mia and Macy their kittens too. See links. So you can follow their growth for those who want to. Mia has a hard time feeding 6 kittens and Macy occasionally takes it over. See photo. Yes, in that case it is good to have several litters at once. If one parent hasn’t enough milk, then the other might have some extra ;-). Macy and Mia are together in one cage, but unfortunately it isn’t big enough to put two boxes in it. So I have the kittens from Mia next to Macy her box. And I made a fence at the front. So the kittens of Maya - who now are very playful – can’t go inside. Not that they aren’t allowed, but the kittens of Macy and Mia are too young to play for now. Another advantage is that Macy can help Mia a little with feeding. I am lucky that Macy and Mia get along so well.

First, I wish you all merry Christmas and a good and healthy 2010! I hope that 2010 will be a good year for you all!

I finally have taken pictures of each kitten individually. Please have a look through the links below or use the link to kittens in the main menu via the homepage. The kittens have taken a lot of Mia. It may be better if I put two of Mia her kittens by Macy. The ones that don’t gain as much weight as they should to by now. The weight lists will follow later when I have more data. The kittens of Macy and Maya grow quite well. But they don’t have so many mouths to feed.

Who would have thought! Yesterday (December 22) Mia has given birth to 6 kittens! It is a special litter of kittens. Many poly and more males than females I think. But I have to look again. Because of some kittens it is obvious what their gender is and others not. Also they seem so very similar .... Hard ... I have to go 'brand' them with nail polish. The kittens of Macy all gained weight! Also the little male who didn’t gain weight Yesterday. Another relief. Pictures of the kittens individually will follow as soon as I can keep them apart ;-). Of course I also keep a weight list, but this will follow also. For now I'm glad that everything is going ok and all the kittens are doing well for now. The mothers also. But I do keep an eye on the females. Especially Macy since she had inflamed mammary gland the last time and that made her very ill. For now I still sleep in the kitten room. Because the mothers are growl at each other. And especially Maya to Macy and Mia. But this is not surprising, because Maya had the kitten room for herself these last 3 weeks. Luckily they ate together this morning without growling! So I have hope. Since I can’t sleep very well with so many sounds around me. And if I am lucky I can go back upstairs to my own bed in a few more days. For now I am very happy. What a wonderful sight all those kittens drinking. And even better .... Sam and Marilyn come to play on my bed! I've never had kittens of 3 weeks of age on my bed before ;-).So cozy! Lucky me!

Saturday, December 19 Hennie and I paid Hilly and Jan (living in Volendam) a visit. Hilly and Jan had adopted Bobbie a while ago. They live beautifully and their dear four legged friends have a great life! Yes, I say this every time, but it just is. I have met so many nice people since I started breeding pixiebobs. Hilly had spoiled us with delicious snacks which I want to thank her for! Unfortunately Jan was at work, or better said he was on his way home. Unfortunately we have not seen him since we had to go back in time. But I also want to thank Jan for his hospitality and the good care of Bobbie. Bobbie is really big. He is about 1 ½ years old and weighs more then 12 pounds! A solid, heavy and sweet guy he is! In the beginning he was a little scared of us, but after an hour we could cuddle him and he began rubbing Hennie her feet;-). Bobbie is also a bad boy;-). Despites that he has his own plate to eat of he must eat from the plate from the ladies Tijger and Poere too. Here are a few pictures of Bobbie. Isn’t he beautiful?!

The kittens Sam and Marilyn are doing very well. Up till now they grow everyday and they also are walking in their room now. Walking by trial and error I must say;-). It looks so funny! See picture. I also have a picture of the pregnant ladies Macy and Mia. The picture is perhaps not showing so well, but Mia is really as big as a bouncing ball. And Macy isn’t as big as Mia is, but I can feel her kittens moving in her belly. Furthermore, Brutus still doesn’t dare to leave his room, but luckily he has his son Mambo to join him. They even sleep together! I needed to take a picture of this beautiful moment. This is something I thought I only could dream of...

Last Monday I went to visit Erica and Rene. Unfortunately I came much later than planned. I was a bit lost ... And the weather was really bad. Holland is packed in snow right now! But gladly I have seen Erica and Rene at last. It was a pleasure to see them again and their Churchill. They really spoil their cats! They have such a good life with Erica and Rene! Churchill really become such a huge guy. See pictures. Erica and Rene, I want to thank you for your hospitality and the delicious sandwiches! I also want to thank you for the beautiful birth tile of Mambo!

And then ... Macy. Macy could not wait until I got home. She had already given birth to three beautiful kittens during my visit to Erica and Rene. 1 male with a long tail and poly feet, 1 male with a long tail and 1 female with a short tail (as far as I can see at this moment). I am sorry that I couldn’t be there for Macy, but I did not expect that she would giving birth at 63 days ... My females often give birth at the 65th day. I can’t say if the kittens are doing well right now. In particular, the male kitten with poly feet. He hasn’t grow since yesterday evening. But I will know more when I weigh him next morning. So for now it doesn’t mean that much. For now I will watch them closely and hoping that they all will gain some weight and being healthy.

Marilyn and Sam are almost 3 weeks young. They already begin to explore their world. So cute! Sam is still a little scared when you lift him because of the hight. Marilyn on the other hand isn’t afraid at all. Yes, kittens at such a young age can’t estimate hights. Both love it when you cuddle them, but it is Sam who starts to purr! Here are a few pictures of the little ones.

I also received a few pictures from Erwin and Nadia of their Simba. Yes, it has snowed a lot in Holland these last two days. And Simba and Nala had their first snow experience! Nala did not like wet paws, but Simba couldn’t get enough of the snow (see pictures). Thanks again for these nice pictures!

Just a short week to go and Macy and Mia will be due. I'm still not sure how to “accomadate” these ladies. I prefer to have them all in the kitten room. Safe for them and easy to handle for me. But I don’t know if the ladies want to share this room .... I hope so. On my kitten page you will find a picture of Macy and Mia taken last week. They are already on the big side (mildly putted).
