Again I received some nice updates from the people who had adopted a kitten. I am so happy about that. Besides that I like to hear how the little ones are doing, I sometimes have no inspiration to write something. And this way they also help me with stories for my diary! Of course our cats have their funny moments too although they aren’t kittens anymore. No matter how old your cats are, they always have such nice, funny and memorable moments .;-) from time to time.
I got almost immediately an update on Leevie from Annemarie. I was so happy about that. Because I am always a bit worried when the kittens are gone to their new home. Do they meet the expectations of the people? Are they affectionate or just shy? Will they eat and drink well? So I am always a bit nervous until I got an update. Because no matter how fond I am of my kittens, the new owners are the ones who need to band with them. This is what I Annemarie wrote:
Hi Linda, Good morning! I would prefer staying a bit longer when I visited you, but unfortunately my friend who drove me had other appointments. Do not worry. It is now almost 7 hours (morning) and I didn’t got a lot of sleep. Guess what ... .... Leevie slept on my pillow and talked and purred all night. I was a bit afraid that I would lie on top of him if I fell asleep. The trip went really well. At home I immediately put him in his temporary room so Leevie could recover from any stress. Yesterday he ate some sensible and a bit of can food. So do not worry, he is doing fine and is not afraid at all. My little guy has to get used to his new home first. And after that I will gently let him meet my dogs. Stronghold I give the dogs too so I am familiar with that product. Oh Linda, how do I answer the questions in your letter: your home is very clean. I already told that to 20 people. Actually everything is great. The bag with all information, photographs, toys, etc., but I'll do it differently: If a cattery would be labeled A, B, C, you get a big A from me. So, enough for today. I'll keep you informed. For now I want to cuddle Leevie. He loves attention. Dear Linda, thank you so much for everything you’ve and the next news mail will come soon. Regards Annemarie.
Well I think this is really a very nice recommendation ;-). THANKS! And I am also very pleased that Leevie is doing so well and just after one day! Something I didn’t dare to dream of. At our home he was still a bit scared of all our other big cats.
I also received a new update from Mireille of Bumper. This is what she wrote me.
Hi Lin, Herewith a few pictures that I’ve taken today. I had told you that Banjer and Bumper slept together... see attached photos ... And now they also play together ... I'm so happy ... It's super ... This morning Bumper played in the garden for the first time together with Bengel and Banjer. But when Bumper tried to walk, Banjer would stand in his walking area so Bumper couldn’t get far. And this morning Bumper wouldn’t stay in bed. She tried to crawl under my pillow to attack my arm and hand. But she is doing so well and I really enjoy her company. We are very lucky having her. She is feeling at home. And when she is playing she let us play with her. She already brings her toys to us. And when I come home from work, she comes running to me and is so happy that I am back. She follows me everywhere I go and she is my ‘baby’;-). So thanks again for this lovely creature.
Big kiss Mireille
Well these words makes a person very happy;-). But know that I am very happy with you. Glad Bumper may live with you and knowing that she will have everything a cat’s heart desires.
Again a nice update from Laura about Bubbels and Bengel (lucky me).
Hi Linda, Just a quick note about Bubbes and Bengel. They are doing very well. They are very playful and love cuddles. Bubbles would love to sleep with someone near her. And when she can’t find Bengel she will sleep with us or tries to find Bengel by meowing. And when you touch her, her engine starts running. But when she is too busy playing she will let you know. She still isn’t fond of Ron, but it's getting slightly better. Bubbels can make lovely sounds when she is running and playing around with Bengel. She is not afraid of him and will attack Bengel. Her tail is also great. It can suddenly explode into a big fluffy tail! Very nice to watch. Or she wags her tail when she is spying on Bengel ready to attack. She walks very nicely on her hind legs, you can see that they are longer than her front. They can jump very far and high. She loves sitting on Fleur her laptop, so Fleur can’t do her home work. She will follow the arrow on the screen and tries catching it. She also has been watching TV a few times and last time she tried to catch the football while we were watching a football game. If I am working on the computer, she finds it very fun to watch what I am doing and lies down on the desk. She has a favorite toy, a stick with a long woolly string and walks with it in her mouth. Very funny to watch, since this toy is way too large for her. Bengel his favorite toy is a piece of toilet paper! Once someone goes to the toilet, he will wait for you to give him some to play with. So our home is constantly filled with pieces of toilet paper! Got so many nice toys for them but he is just font of a piece of paper! Bubbels is a bit afraid of strangers. But you have to ignore her and she will eventually come to you. Bengel on the other hand isn’t scared of strangers. He doesn’t mind. They both love children. Our daughters are very fond of B&B. They play a lot with them and they get a lots of cuddles. The walk outside with Bubbels and Bengel I have not repeated yet. I wait until the weather is a little bit better. This week I tried to cut their nails. It worked when I gave them some cat candy to distract them. I told you they are bad little cats from time to time. And this time they won’t let me scoop their litter box. While changing the litter box I had the lid next to the box upside down and Bengel peed in it. First I thought it was an accident, but he did it twice! So I knew he tried to sabotage me. And when I didn’t pay attention to Bubbels she chew on the garbage bag with the cat litter in it…. So both made a terrible mess!!! I think they had told each other to do so;-). They are really bad kittens, but very sweet also! I hope your new job is going well. A very nice Easter weekend!
Greetings and a hug from B & B.
Laura
Well what a story was that! Those two are real naughty. And this is something I didn’t teach them;-). And yes you are right, cats actually love the most simple things. But people also want something that looks nice too ;-). Thanks again for these funny updates and beautiful photos!
I also received a nice update from Ton and family about Silas. This is what he wrote to me.
Hi Linda, Silas is doing great. We already enjoy his company for 2 weeks by now. Last week we got him chipped at our vet. Our vet loved seeing him since this was her first Pixiebob at her practice. Today, Easter Monday, he went outside for the first time. Together with Marinde (our daughter), he stepped into the garden. Last Saturday we bought him a blue kitten collar with a small ‘tube’ with a note in it with his name and address on it. He was very happy to see the outside world! Silas is also friend with our 2nd cat Milo see the attached 2 photos. But Milo is not as close with Silas as our red cat Jochem. Yesterday we saw Silas trying to find a nipple to drink milk by Jochem. And when we looked closer we saw a little bald spot at one of Jochem’s nipples. Unbelievable! And knowing that they are both male cats! In short ...Silas is doing more than OK. Kind regards Ton and family.
Ton and family thanks again for this funny update and of course for the beautiful pictures. I am very pleased that Silas does so well. But drinking by Jochem .... What a crazy kitten he is ;-).
I also received an update from Astrid and Arjen about their Bruce. This is what Astrid wrote to me.
Bruce has made our home his home and doesn’t fear anyone or anything. Unfortunately also the spray we use to water our plants isn’t scary to him… He thinks it is just a game… He finds visitors a bit boring so it looks. With Easter my parents, brother and grandmother paid us a visit. He watched them for an hour. But gladly after an hour he joined them on our sofa and laid down between my father and brother. And after diner he joined my mother in her chair. Furthermore he can be really active (jumping and running) and other days he is such a lazy cat and loves to sleep on our sofa. But we laugh a lot. Lost time he crawled under our mattress cover and couldn’t find himself a way out. And when we helped him he looked very surprised, very funny. One of his hobbies is chewing. He loves to chew on anything he can get his paws on. When he wants attention he will hold your arm or leg with his two front paws. And in the morning he will crawl under our blanked and lie himself against us. Bruce is getting very strong and looks a lot like Major. He already develops a firm neck. Walking on a leash is no problem at all. He doesn’t mind. I wish you a nice weekend. Greetings Astrid.
What a lovely story Astrid! Thanks again. And Bruce is a good example of how a pixiebob should act;-). Sweet, playful and a bit pigheaded;-).
I also received a few pictures from Martijn and Corrinda from their Pipo and Momo. They are doing great they told me. Again thanks for these lovely pictures!
