I am lucky! I got some nice updates from my former kittens. To begin with Kiki (from Maya and Major born October 22, 2007). I had not spoken to Peter lately so I thought I sent him an e-mail. Kiki we had a bit longer in our home then the normal 13 weeks. Since we had to wait till Peter his home was ready. Well it was very difficult to say goodbye to Kiki. You get a close band with a kitten the longer they stay. But Peter wrote me that Kiki is doing great. He is still very pleased with her company. Every morning Kiki waits for his bedroom door till he opens it. And when she has to wait too long, she will call him. Peter thinks that she wants to enjoy the view at his window, but I think that that is only one of the reasons. She wants his attention! She also loves to sit on the balcony looking for birds and little bugs. She also likes to steel stuff from his desk while he is working. And when he is writing something she tries to get a grip on his pen and before you know it you will have a large scratch on your paper;-). Peter, thank you for your update and I am looking forward to the pictures of Kiki!
Then an update from Eke and her pixies Izzy and Dixie. It goes very well with her 2 beebs (as she calls her pixies). Dixie now weighs 10 pounds and Izzy already 11 pounds! And no they are not fat but they do have lead in their but (a Dutch expression). They eat and drink well. And they are doing great. Dixie eats about anything and Izzy likes the strangest things…….. potato peels!!! Never heard of it, but I learn every day. But he doesn’t like chicken this funny cat. Izzy is still a bit odd (always have been). His left eye looks still very eyed (yes, my first eyed Pixie). But Eke doesn’t care. Sometimes Izzy jumps spontaneously on Eke's lap. And she says' jumps 'because he can’t sit down gently (he looks like our Macy!). Dixie is very cuddly. She often sleeps on Eke’s lap. But Eke is very happy that Izzy comes for cuddles more often. Oh, and then their voices she told me! Dixie has a really soft voice and Izzy ...... if you hear Izzy scream it is like he says mom! Also never heard of this one before;-). Thanks Eke for your update!
Then an update from Frencis and Piet and their pixie Tommy! Tommy has had his first boat trip! So cool! She wrote me that this trip went very well. The first day / night, they remain ashore. So Tommy could get used to the boat first. Soon he gets used to his new environment. But when they went sailing he was a bit uncomfortable. Doesn’t have sailing legs yet;-). But soon he got used to the waves. Furthermore he is already used to his new home and ‘care takers’. He runs true their home, eats well and loves to cuddle and play. They also took him to their vet for a regular check-up and he is as healthy as he can be. Tommy is my first pixiebob that went on a boat trip and I am so proud of this little one! Look at these great pictures!! Isn’t he a good looking kitten?
Then Buddha. Alwin is very happy with his kitten. But the first night he couldn’t sleep at all. Buddha attacked him everywhere he could. Just for playing of course. Yes, Alwin you're just a giant toy for him ;-). The journey home went well. Until about 10 km before Utrecht Buddha gave him a live concert! Alwins left ear was totally deaf. Later on Buddha climb on his shoulders and find himself a nice sleeping spot in Alwins neck. Buddha soon stopped crying and felt so comfortable. Once home, Alwin puts Buddha in his box so he could take a close look at Shiva Alwins dog. Shiva was not interested in Buddha. The next morning Buddha took a step closer to Shiva. Although Buddha is small (for now) he gave Shiva a scratch on her nose! Gladly Shiva is used to cats. And after 5 minutes Buddha already dares to smell at Shivas tail. Who would have expected this! Buddha has guts! Herewith a few pictures of Buddha and Shiva! A nice couple! I really hope that they will get friends or at least respect each other. But for now everything goes very well. Thanks Alwin for this update and for the lovely pictures!
Mayte and René wrote me that Noa and Dana doing great too. The first night they all slept well. Noa and Dana were quiet. But that is because they have each other. When they entered their room the next morning, they were very happy and Dana started purring immediately. Noa has until recently purred for the first time. Yes, these are nice moments;-). They eat well and used the litter box. They are still exploring their new home, but their own room is really their room where they sit most of the time even though the door is open. Also funny is that one of them going on a trip the other one immediately starts to call and quickly comes after her.
They are both very playful, but Dana is much busier than Noa. Dana is incredibly fast and loves her new toy. This is a stick-string-bird thing. Noa plays too but she is less active. Dana is really funny, so fast, and she can jump so high. Dana does not get enough of playing. I also received a couple of nice pictures. Rene and Mayte, I want to thank you again for everything and for this nice update and pictures!
Then something about Mia. I still can’t tell if she is pregnant. Can’t see any difference to her nipples, nor in color nor in size. So I do think she is not pregnant. The difficult part is that she already had a full belly, so also this doesn’t tells me anything. Anyway. The only thing I can do is weighing her once a week. See if she gained a bit weight. For now she gained one ounce, but this can also be due to normal growth. I will closely watch her for now. And if she gets in heat again she may visit Brutus again.
