Macy and Major spent some quality time together ;-) and they will expect kittens around August 20, 2009. I dare to write this since I've seen that Major hit the jackpot;-)and if I had not seen it I surely heard them.... I am very excited having kittens soon!

Today I received two CD's from Peter from his cat Kiki! Kiki stayed a bit longer than 13 weeks in our home since we had to wait till Peters new home was finished. Therefore we got very attached to Kiki. And now I got these CD
s with pictures and movies from Kiki! She has grown a lot and she is very playful. Thanks Peter! We are very happy with this gift!

Last week, I received a few photos of Felix with thanks to Anja and Johan! Felix is doing very well and gladly he and Rocky are getting along a bit better. And Felix is really a cuddly kitten Anja told me. If he sits on Anja's lap, he starts purring and can’t resist to give Anja a washing;-). And when Anja is filling her bath he comes running in the bathroom. They really need to watch him closely, because before you know it he will jumps in it. His leash is a toy for him rather then taking a walk with it. I am very pleased with this good news and the photos.

At this moment I have a house full of ladies in heat except for Mia .... But Mia has gained 2 ounces ... So this makes me doubt again…... But no pink nipples?! But it is also possible that she only gained a bit weight since they do grow up to 4 years and she is only 1 year old. Macy may have a litter also, but when I bring her to Major she is so afraid that I can’t let the two together. Strange, since the last time she couldn’t resist Major;-). Maya on the other hand is desperately to go upstairs to Major…. But she has to wait a while before she may get pregnant again. Strange animals cats………

Yesterday I visited Mayte and René. It is the first time that I saw my former kittens again so soon after they left our home. Noa and Dana already grown a lot in such a short time. I had a great time and René and Mayte are such lovely people. And I must say that they live beautifully! The kittens don’t miss anything. They have 2 large climbing poles, a nice crispy (plush) tunnel and lots of toys. Besides they get a lot of attention. Of course I took some photos of these two sweethearts. I want to thank René and Mayte for their hospitality and for the good care of Noa and Dana!

Viv also send me a lovely photo of Linneke and Chaplin. These two are still inseparable as you can see. So sweet! Thanks Viv for this lovely photo!

Frencis and Piet also send me an update and photos of Tommy. Tommy is doing great. According to Frencis and Piet he does eat a lot! It is surprising that such a small kitten can eat that much. They also said that Tommy has grown significantly. Well, I believe that right away since I saw today that Dana and Noa have grown a lot too. Tommy is very active, plays with everyone and everything. Both on the boat and at home. Also he isn’t afraid for new people. Tommy already went on a boat trip twice. When Piet starts the engine Tommy takes a nap in the closet between the towels. And when they are getting ashore - and the engine is turned off - he appears again. Tommy also had his first visit on their balcony (at a leash to be sure he doesn’t escape). Furthermore Tommy isn’t afraid in the car. He just looks outside and enjoying his trip. Yes, Tommy is doing great and I am very happy that he gets so much attention and that Frencis and Piet takes him everywhere they go. Thank Frencis and Piet for this great update and lovely pictures!

Yes, they say pixiebobs are smart and I can confirm that. Ok, there are exceptions and besides by training them you can influence their development. I got a nice update of Maggy and Tammo about their Skyler. Skyler is my only (former) pixiebob that uses the toilet instead of the litter box! It took them a lot of training, but less than the average time it takes you to train your cat to use the toilet. Skyler now uses the toilet without assistance edges that you can put on toilet (sometimes filled with a bit of grit).
This is a piece of what they wrote about Skyler:
Well, what can we say about Skyler? Or rather, where should we start? Because we can fill a book about her. She is sweet as always, funny, beautiful, touching, insane, pressure and playful as ever. A while ago we weighed her and she is a big lady of almost 5kg. I think that is significant for a Pixielady of her age (she is just 1 year old). No day goes by that we don’t miss her, that she doesn’t surprise us, put a smile on our faces or she makes our blood boils;-). Because she knows very well what she may or may not do and she is always searching for our boundaries to see how far she can go. Furthermore she is completely "toilet trained" since a few months. So she does now uses the toilet - without any tools. And it doesn’t even matter to her whether the seat is up or down. See this picture that proves it. We are so proud and it is good that there are cameras to provide evidence. When you tell that our cat uses the toilet they often don’t believe you. They ask why we have a cat door in the bathroom door, but then of course they see no litter box. If you tell them that Skyler uses the toilet just like us, they directly look at our nose and expect it to grow a few inches;-).

Yes, I am proud of Skyler! Thanks Maggy and Tammo for this nice update and great picture!

Unfortunately, Mia is not pregnant. I had hoped she was for Brutus. Because I would like to keep a male kitten so Brutus can 'retire' soon. But I have to be patience. I hope she will get in heat soon. Then we will give it another try. The reason that she isn’t pregnant, is probably because I waited to long this time for her to be bred…. She was already six days in heat before I let Mia visit Brutus….

I am lucky! I got some nice updates from my former kittens. To begin with Kiki (from Maya and Major born October 22, 2007). I had not spoken to Peter lately so I thought I sent him an e-mail. Kiki we had a bit longer in our home then the normal 13 weeks. Since we had to wait till Peter his home was ready. Well it was very difficult to say goodbye to Kiki. You get a close band with a kitten the longer they stay. But Peter wrote me that Kiki is doing great. He is still very pleased with her company. Every morning Kiki waits for his bedroom door till he opens it. And when she has to wait too long, she will call him. Peter thinks that she wants to enjoy the view at his window, but I think that that is only one of the reasons. She wants his attention! She also loves to sit on the balcony looking for birds and little bugs. She also likes to steel stuff from his desk while he is working. And when he is writing something she tries to get a grip on his pen and before you know it you will have a large scratch on your paper;-). Peter, thank you for your update and I am looking forward to the pictures of Kiki!

Then an update from Eke and her pixies Izzy and Dixie. It goes very well with her 2 beebs (as she calls her pixies). Dixie now weighs 10 pounds and Izzy already 11 pounds! And no they are not fat but they do have lead in their but (a Dutch expression). They eat and drink well. And they are doing great. Dixie eats about anything and Izzy likes the strangest things…….. potato peels!!! Never heard of it, but I learn every day. But he doesn’t like chicken this funny cat. Izzy is still a bit odd (always have been). His left eye looks still very eyed (yes, my first eyed Pixie). But Eke doesn’t care. Sometimes Izzy jumps spontaneously on Eke's lap. And she says' jumps 'because he can’t sit down gently (he looks like our Macy!). Dixie is very cuddly. She often sleeps on Eke’s lap. But Eke is very happy that Izzy comes for cuddles more often. Oh, and then their voices she told me! Dixie has a really soft voice and Izzy ...... if you hear Izzy scream it is like he says mom! Also never heard of this one before;-). Thanks Eke for your update!

Then an update from Frencis and Piet and their pixie Tommy! Tommy has had his first boat trip! So cool! She wrote me that this trip went very well. The first day / night, they remain ashore. So Tommy could get used to the boat first. Soon he gets used to his new environment. But when they went sailing he was a bit uncomfortable. Doesn’t have sailing legs yet;-). But soon he got used to the waves. Furthermore he is already used to his new home and ‘care takers’. He runs true their home, eats well and loves to cuddle and play. They also took him to their vet for a regular check-up and he is as healthy as he can be. Tommy is my first pixiebob that went on a boat trip and I am so proud of this little one! Look at these great pictures!! Isn’t he a good looking kitten?

Then Buddha. Alwin is very happy with his kitten. But the first night he couldn’t sleep at all. Buddha attacked him everywhere he could. Just for playing of course. Yes, Alwin you're just a giant toy for him ;-). The journey home went well. Until about 10 km before Utrecht Buddha gave him a live concert! Alwins left ear was totally deaf. Later on Buddha climb on his shoulders and find himself a nice sleeping spot in Alwins neck. Buddha soon stopped crying and felt so comfortable. Once home, Alwin puts Buddha in his box so he could take a close look at Shiva Alwins dog. Shiva was not interested in Buddha. The next morning Buddha took a step closer to Shiva. Although Buddha is small (for now) he gave Shiva a scratch on her nose! Gladly Shiva is used to cats. And after 5 minutes Buddha already dares to smell at Shivas tail. Who would have expected this! Buddha has guts! Herewith a few pictures of Buddha and Shiva! A nice couple! I really hope that they will get friends or at least respect each other. But for now everything goes very well. Thanks Alwin for this update and for the lovely pictures!

Mayte and René wrote me that Noa and Dana doing great too. The first night they all slept well. Noa and Dana were quiet. But that is because they have each other. When they entered their room the next morning, they were very happy and Dana started purring immediately. Noa has until recently purred for the first time. Yes, these are nice moments;-). They eat well and used the litter box. They are still exploring their new home, but their own room is really their room where they sit most of the time even though the door is open. Also funny is that one of them going on a trip the other one immediately starts to call and quickly comes after her.
They are both very playful, but Dana is much busier than Noa. Dana is incredibly fast and loves her new toy. This is a stick-string-bird thing. Noa plays too but she is less active. Dana is really funny, so fast, and she can jump so high. Dana does not get enough of playing. I also received a couple of nice pictures. Rene and Mayte, I want to thank you again for everything and for this nice update and pictures!

Then something about Mia. I still can’t tell if she is pregnant. Can’t see any difference to her nipples, nor in color nor in size. So I do think she is not pregnant. The difficult part is that she already had a full belly, so also this doesn’t tells me anything. Anyway. The only thing I can do is weighing her once a week. See if she gained a bit weight. For now she gained one ounce, but this can also be due to normal growth. I will closely watch her for now. And if she gets in heat again she may visit Brutus again.

Today, the last three kittens went to their new home. It still feels a bit empty despite the fact that I still have 10 cats to cuddle. I hope that Millie and Maya won’t be too sad. But my experience so far is that they will forget about their kittens really fast (oddly enough). But all the kittens have a great new home! So I can’t complain. First came Alwin for his Buddha. He gave me a beautiful plant which I want to thank him for! So sweet! Buddha has already cuddled Alwin during their trip home, so I expect that Buddha will adjust fine. I am very curious how Buddha will respond to Alwin his dog Shiva. My experience is that kittens do great with dogs (despites the fact that I don’t have a dog myself). Only the dog has to be used to cats/kittens. I want to thank Alwin again for everything and wish him lots of cuddle and play time with Buddha!

After Alwin came René and Mayte for their Noa and Dana. I received a delicious bottle of Spanish champagne. This bottle is so beautiful that I almost don’t dare to open it ;-). But I will at some point, since I want to know how this champagne tastes. Again thanks for this beautiful gift! Noa and Dana did get easily in their basket. Yes, what do you want .... They will stay together! I am therefore very confident that these two ladies will get used to their new family and home very soon. What I also find very nice is that I may visit them whenever I want. They really live a stone's throw from me. So this offer, I certainly take. I would like to thank René and Mayte again for everything and wish them lots of cuddle and play time with these two ladies.

Furthermore I received some nice updates on my former kittens!
To begin Nadia wrote me that Simba and Nala are doing great. They regularly go on tour when visiting Erwin his parents. His parents have a large garden and they love it! They also received a new toy that they are very fond of. A stick with a rope and feathers at the end.  For Simba and Nala it looks like a bird and they will do anything to catch it. Nala is catching up on Simba in weight. Simba weighs 4.1 kg and Nala weighs already 4 kg. Come on Simba! Try to eat more! But both are wonderful and cuddly. And Nala loves to talk all day long. Thanks Nadia for this update and also for the beautiful pictures!

Anja has also updated me about Felix. I have received some movies. So cute! Unfortunately I can’t publish them on my website…. Anja has bought a cats trapeze for Felix and Rocky. Well this is a great success! Both Felix and Rocky love to sit and play in it! Felix feels already at home. He runs throughout Anja all day and talks a lot, loves to cuddle and even washes them! Rocky and Felix are getting used to each other. I hope they will become friends in future. For now they accept each other. Last time Felix stole a piece of bacon from the kitchen (which I didn’t learn him), but he was a bit upset when he had to return it. Anja thanks for this update and for the funny movies!

Then at last an update from Katrien on Sam. Sam has rapidly adjust. She plays a lot and when she gets tired she will fall a sleep on Katriens lap. She also chats a lot. Soon Sam will be trained to walk on a leash. So they can take her on a trip from time to time. Katrien Thanks for this update and for the lovely pictures!

Furthermore I received some pictures from Viv of Chaplin and Staartje and from Renate of Katmandu and her close friend Kareltje. Thanks Renate and Viv!
